Robert Genat grew up in Detroit with a passion for cars and aviation. In 1974, he was introduced to photography and soon after saw his first photo published. In 1985, he established Zone Five Photo, specializing in military photography. In 1993, he became a published author. Since then he has published more than 25 books on muscle cars, hot rods, law enforcement, military aviation, and Americana. Robert’s passion for cars is as intense as ever. Over the last 15 years he has restored a 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air 409, a 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass, a 1932 Ford coupe hot rod, and now drives a tri-power 1962 Pontiac Catalina convertible.

Robert is a member of the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association www.motorsportsforum.com, the Motor Press Guild www.motorpressguild.org, and is on the advisory board of the American Hot Rod Foundation www.ahraf.com.
